ReplyDeleteThese coins were produced in both copper nickle and ferric stainless steel. It is not an error.
ReplyDeleteYes you are right... OMS are are not production defects however they are errors either because officially they are produced in only one alloy or the die meant for Cu-Ni coin production is used for minting of FFS coins and vice versa. For example in case of coins like Lal bahadur shastri and JAGATH GURU the coins are officially minted in both FFS and Cu-Ni alloys however both have different dies. If you find the Cu-Ni die impression on FFS and vice versa then it is an error.
