25 PAISE: RURAL WOMEN ADVANCEMENT

Rural women in India are deprived from access to the natural, social and economic resources. Due to gender inequity and limited resource access they have less say in the decision making at various levels of the life; both at personal and societal level. In order to create awareness and promote the women empowerment Govt. of India released this Commemorative coin in year 1980.

25 PAISE:WORLD FOOD DAY -1981

This Coin was released to commemorate the First World Food Day (WFD) during the year 1981. World Food Day (WFD) was established by FAO's Member Countries at the Organization's 20th General Conference in November 1945. The Hungarian Delegation, led by the former Hungarian Minister of Agriculture and Food, Dr. Pál Romány has played an active role at the 20th Session of the FAO Conference and suggested the idea of celebrating the World worldwide. It has since been observed every year in more than 150 countries, raising awareness of the issues behind poverty and hunger. The theme of first World Food Day, 1981 was “FOOD COMES FIRST”.

25 PAISE: IX ASIAN GAMES

IX Asian games were held in Capital of India, New Delhi during the year 1982. In this event 33 Asian countries participated with the total of 4, 595 athletes, in which China was  leading in medal tally with total of 61 gold medals and Japan was at Second position with 57 Gold medals. India bagged 13 Gold medals.

25 PAISE: FORESTRY FOR DEVELOPMENT

Forests play an important and vital role in the economic, social and cultural dimensions of the human life. They are not only the source of oxygen or nature balancing elements but also an integral part of Livelihood of many people. Forest and forest products are source of income to the part of population and also play great deal of role in maintaining, supporting and evolving the biodiversity in the nature. Hence it is very important to focus on forest conservation and development along with economic development. For this purpose Govt. is conducting many afforestation programmes.
