In the year 1989 commemorative Copper-Nickle Five Rupees were released from Mumbai mint, in order to commemorate the Birth Centenary (1889-1989) of India's first Prime Minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru. In this commemorative issue we can find both obverse and reverse die varieties. However, Reverse die variety is found to be very significant one and can be easily identified by looking at the length of the border teeth and the serif length of letter 'R' in the word "JAWAHARLAL". In case of large faced coin (which is found normally) we can see smaller border teeth and shorter serif in letter 'R', whereas in case of small faced coin we can see long border teeth and elongated serif in letter 'R'. The description given above is depicted in below given images.
